HL Deb 18 December 2003 vol 655 cc180-1WA
Lord Stoddart of Swindon

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will place in the Library of the House a copy of the staff rules of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.[HL358]

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Culture, Media and Sport (Lord McIntosh of Haringey)

EBRD's public information policy covers public disclosure of its operational activities and invites public participation in the formulation of the country strategies, which guide the bank's lending activities. However, like many employers, it is not the bank's policy to disclose detailed information about the terms and conditions under which its staff are employed. This approach is consistent with the provisions of the bank's articles of agreement of which the UK is a founding signatory.
