To ask the Secretary of State for Health what steps are being taken to improve the performance of the Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. [143240]

Miss Melanie Johnson

This is a matter for the North and East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire Strategic Health Authority. I understand that Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service (TENYAS) National Health Service Trust has agreed an improvement plan with the North and East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire Strategic Health Authority. This recognises the issues which TENYAS faces and identifies appropriate actions to move the trust forward in 2003–04.
