HL Deb 15 December 2003 vol 655 c111WA
Lord Moynihan

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will clarify the relationships between Sport England's national sports strategy and the nine regional sports strategies; and whether they will place copies of the strategies in the Library of the House. [HL230]

Lord McIntosh of Haringey

Sport England has carried out extensive consultation with stakeholders in the regions, involving over 1,200 people, to help to develop a framework for sport. This is currently being drawn up. The nine regional sports boards are preparing regional sports strategies and are consulting relevant regional bodies, with a view to producing regional strategies within the context of the national framework.

Sport England expects to complete the national and regional frameworks by April 2004, and the strategies will be placed in the Library of the House at that time.
