Mr. Redwood:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what percentage of (a) primary and (b) secondary legislation sponsored by his Department in 2002–03 was introduced to implement EU requirements. [141133]

Mr. Hutton:

During 2002–03, the Department sponsored no primary legalisation to implement European Union measures and three per cent. of the 208 pieces of secondary legislation were of EU origin.
