To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the future role and structure of the Defence Logistics Organisation. [141661]

The role of the Defence Logistics Organisation remains'To decide, provide for, and deliver effective and integrated logistic support and information services to the front line and across the Department at best value for Defence.'

The DLO Strategic Plan, published November 2002, provides further background, a copy of which can be found in the House of Commons Library.

The DLO is currently reviewing its structure to ensure that it provides the most effective and efficient way of delivering to its customers. The outcomes of the review will be considered early next year.
