To ask the Minister for Women what Government support was given to the LeicestHER event on 7 March. [103220]

Ms Hewitt

As Minister for Women I was pleased to be involved in the second annual LeicestHERday activities which took place in Leicester as part of International Women's Day.

No direct Government financial support was given to this event, but the East Midlands Development Agency contributed £12,000.

The success of the day was due to the involvement and support of the many local partners and local women who took part in the weekend's activities.
