HC Deb 02 April 2003 vol 402 cc767-8W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how many organic farmers are registered in Buckinghamshire. [106370]

Mr. Meacher

According to our records 15 organic farmers.

Mr. Liddell-Grainger

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what help she is giving to organic farming companies to advertise their produce. [105509]

Mr. Meacher

Direct funding is not available to individual companies to support advertising. However, the possibility of developing consumer information on organic food is being considered in the follow up to the action plan to develop organic food and farming in England. The marketing of quality agricultural products including organic produce is, in principle, eligible for pump priming assistance under the Rural Enterprise Scheme, which forms part of the England Rural Development Programme.
