HL Deb 24 September 2002 vol 638 c235WA
Loard Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, if they enter into any commitment for military action against Iraq, they will recall Parliament and make a full Statement on the grounds for their policy in time for the views of both Houses to be taken before the action has begun. [HL5706]

Lord Macdonald of Tradeston

As the Prime Minister has made clear no decisions have been taken to commit British forces. If decisions are taken, we will of course consider the best way to consult the House in the normal way.
