§ Mr. StinchcombeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish for each prison the results achieved by the Prison Service on each of its key performance indicators during 2001–02. [72153]
§ Hilary BennThe final key performance indicator (KPI) results achieved by each prison are given in the table, a copy of which has been placed in the Library. The cost per uncrowded prison place KPI is formulated at overall Prison Service level. The costs in the table are establishment costs only, which exclude Headquarters overheads and the figures are not therefore comparable with the Prison Service cost per place KPI. Costs for private prisons include an element of capital repayment and are not comparable with the public sector. Staff in private prisons are excluded from the Prison Service staff sickness KPI.
A summary of the performance of each prison is given in the Prison Service Annual Report and Accounts for 2001–02.
