§ Mr. DenhamThere are no current plans to introduce such targets. The Government has published overall targets for the recruitment, retention and progression of minority ethnic police officers in "Dismantling Barriers". Forces have until 2009 to meet those targets. It remains a priority for the Government that the police service should represent the communities it serves.
