To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what provision there is to provide an aid package to support UK farmers whose pasture lands have become water-logged or been destroyed by persistent wet weather. [73120]

Mr. Morley

There is no routine provision to compensate farmers for the effects of bad weather. In exceptional circumstances, a Member State may apply to the European Commission to make special payments from national resources.
