§ Jacqui SmithAll local councils will benefit from the extra resources announced by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer when personal social services resources are set to increase by on average 6 per cent. per annum in real terms over the next three years, 2003–04, 2004–05 and 2005–06. Details of how the increases for next year's social services resources will be allocated to individual local councils will be announced later this year at the time of the local government settlement.
