To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills if she will make a statement on the disposal of TEC assets to(a) the public sector and (b) private interests. [76410]

It is the Department's intention to publish a statement on the disposition of TEC assets in the Department's accounts which are currently being audited by the NAO and are due to be published on 4 December 2002. The disposition of TEC assets has been subject to a policy agreed with Ministers and Treasury with the aim of making sure that TEC assets are used for the benefit of the TEC local communities in the furtherance of broader government objectives and not for private gain.
