To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, what discussions she has had with the Scottish Executive and DEFRA regarding French action in preventing imports of Scottish meat and its effects on the Scottish agriculture industry. [73581]

I have regular discussions with the Scottish Executive and DEFRA on a wide range of issues.

The French Government announced on 2 October that it had decided to lift the ban on British beef imports. Implementation of the decision is expected soon.
