HC Deb 22 October 2002 vol 391 cc155-6W
Mr. Don Foster

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment has been made by(a) his Department and (b) the Strategic Rail Authority of the likely effects of the forthcoming Enterprise Bill upon the railway industry; and what plans there are to respond to them. [75616]

Mr. Jamieson

I am not aware of any likely effects unique to the railway industry. The particular circumstances of the industry were taken into account in the preparation of the legislation. Both the Department and the Strategic Rail Authority have been consulted during the passage of the Bill.
