HC Deb 17 October 2002 vol 390 cc922-3W
Jeremy Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what her estimate is of the proportion of household waste that was recycled in the last year for which figures are available. [72369]

Mr. Meacher

The latest data from the Municipal Waste Management Survey 2000–01 show that the total proportion of household waste recycled or composted in England in that period was just over 11 per cent.—an increase of about 1 per cent. over the previous year.
