§ Dr. HowellsThe Department does not directly fund the promotion of British culture abroad. However, the British Tourist Authority often features aspects of British culture in its programme to attract visitors to this country and many other institutions and events which receive funds from the Department play a significant part in establishing international awareness of British Culture.
