§ Mr. MeacherThe European Commission has made a proposal for a Council Directive on the control of high activity sealed radioactive sources, which is under586W discussion in Council working group. The department is currently carrying out an initial Regulatory Impact Assessment to gauge the potential costs and benefits of implementing the current draft of the Directive. This is expected to be ready in the autumn and will be provided to the European Scrutiny Committee. I shall also place a copy in the Library.
