To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the average annual salary was, broken down by region and industry in the last 12 months. [73963]

Gross Average Annual Earnings of full time employees on adult rates who have been in the same job for more than 12 months

(73963) The New Earnings Survey (NES) provides earnings data for Great Britain for full-time employees on adult rates of pay. The attached table shows the average annual earnings by region and industry for April 2001, the latest date for which figures are available.
