§ Dr. HowellsThe Department is working in partnership with other Government Departments and representatives of the creative industries to enhance their economic performance at home and overseas. More recent figures from official sources suggest that in 2000 the creative industries:
- generated revenues of £76.6 billion
- provided jobs for 1.95 million
- account for 7.9 per cent. of GDP
