1 he National Probation Service was established on 1 April 2001 and 100 per cent, grant funding was provided by the Home Office to local probation areas.
1Prior to April 2001, the Home Office provided 80 per cent, grant funding to probation services. Local authorities funded the balance of 20 per cent, from grant provided by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM).
