To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if she will list the organizations which(a) departmental officials and(b) ministers are meeting to discuss details of the proposed Animal Welfare Bill, and what matters will be discussed. [83017]

The consultation on the proposed Animal Welfare Bill commenced in January 2002. Since that time I have met a wide range of individuals and animal welfare organisations. These meetings are continuing.

We have also organised a series of stakeholder meetings on the Bill. The following organisations have already attended stakeholder meetings:-
