To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the ratio is of medical and clinical staff practising in the national health service to total staff employed by his Department, health NDPBs and the NHS. [81024]

The data are shown in the table. 64 per cent, of staff employed in the national health service, Department of Health and health non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs) are medical and clinical staff practising in the NHS.
