To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much has been spent on advertising campaigns undertaken since 1997 by(a) the Register of Friendly Societies, (b) the Government Actuary's Department and (c) OGC Buying Solutions; and if he will make a statement. [80651]

Neither the Registry of Friendly Societies (since 1997) nor OGC Buying Solutions (since its inception in 2001) have incurred expenditure on advertising campaigns.

Annual advertising expenditure for the Government Actuary's Department is set out in the table. Most of this expenditure relates to costs associated with recruitment advertising for trainee actuaries.
