To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what percentage of new recruits to his Department in the past two years were aged 50 and over. [79302]

The percentage of new recruits to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the past two years aged 50 and over is as follows;

  • 1 April 2000 to 31 March 2001 – 9.3 per cent.
  • 1 April 2001 to 31 March 2002 – 10.5 per cent.
