§ Mr. LeslieThe Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has commissioned several organisations to carry out such research on its behalf since it took on responsibility for fire matters in May 2002
The research projects undertaken relate to individual's or householder's attitudes or behaviour with regard to fire safety in the home and are as follows:
The Attitude and Behaviour monitor is quantitative research which has been carried out annually by Taylor Nelson Sofres for four years—the last tranche being December 2001, and The Older People qualitative research was carried out by Andrew Irving Associates this summer.Additionally, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has commissioned the Home Office to provide fire safety data through the British Crime Survey. From 2001, the survey has been conducted by British Market Research Bureau. For the first few months, British Market Research Bureau were in consortium with IPSOS RSL.
