To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether the National Suicide Prevention Strategy will address the issue of assisted suicide; and if he will make a statement. [53196]

§ Jacqui Smith
The National Suicide Prevention Strategy for England, launched on 26 April for public consultation, does not address the issue of assisted suicide.
We have no plans to change the law in this respect.
