As National Statistician I have been asked to reply to your question on emigration of UK citizens. (53136)The British Nationality Act 1981, which came into force on 1' January 1983, replaced citizenship of the United Kingdom and Colonies, with British citizenship, British Overseas citizenship, and British Dependent Territories citizenship. Therefore, the attached table shows outward international migration by British citizens during the last five years from 1996 to 2000.
