HC Deb 01 May 2002 vol 384 c862W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what the cost has been of criminal damage to her Department's buildings in each of the last four years. [44829]

Ms Rosie Winterton

The Lord Chancellor's Department does not hold specific records of the cost of criminal damage to buildings. Any repair costs incurred are met from contingency funds allocated to cover all reactive maintenance works of which criminal damage would be only one example. It would incur a disproportionate cost to the Department to break down the volume of repairs made and allocate them to specific causes.
