To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills (1) how many, and what proportion of pupils achieved five or more GCSEs at A* to C grades in each year between 1997 and 2001; [45335]

(2) how many and what proportion of pupils achieved five or more GCSEs at A* to C grades, where those grades included an A* to C grade in each of English, maths and science, in each year between 1997 and 2001. [45333]
