To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many members of staff were employed by the Treasury on secondment from non-governmental organisations in(a) 1999, (b) 2000 and (c) 2001. [45222]

The numbers of people seconded to the Treasury from non-governmental organisations were as follows:

  • 1999–6
  • 2000–11
  • 2001–16.

The numbers of Treasury staff on secondment from the private sector in 1999 was two, in 2000 was four and in 2001 was eight.
