To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions if he will list the bids, and their value submitted from Britain to the European Union since 1997 for funding as part of the Trans European Network for (a) road and (b) rail projects. [43048]

Information on UK bids for funding under the trans-European Network grants regime is commercially sensitive. The attached table shows the amount of grant that has been allocated to the UK since 1997, for the improvement of road and rail infrastructure.
