asked Her Majesty's Government:
What are the planned figures for the Ministry of Defence budget 2001–02; and whether they anticipate an overspend on current costings. [HL3274]

§ Lord Bach
The Ministry of Defence's resource and capital departmental expenditure limit (DEL) for 2001–2002 is £24,690 million, as published in the Spring Supplementary Estimates. We fully intend to remain within our DEL at the end of the year.
