To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many people hold current bank accounts in each region covered by the regional development agencies in the age ranges(a) 0 to 8, (b) 18 to 24, (c) 25 to 50, (d) 50 to 65, (e) 65 to 85 and (f) 85 years and over at the latest date for which figures are available. The information is not readily available. The table sets out estimates (from the Family Resources Survey), of the proportion of respondents in each region and age category who had a bank account in the 2000–01 survey.
