HC Deb 12 March 2002 vol 381 c862W
22. Mr. Boris Johnson

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on Britain's relations with Zimbabwe. [39585]

Mr. MacShane

It is no secret that Britain's relations with Zimbabwe are at their lowest ebb since independence.

25. Mr. Win Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions he has had with his counterpart in the Southern African Development Community to help maintain democracy and secure economic recovery in Zimbabwe. [39588]

Mr. MacShane

My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary was unable to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Coolum on 2–5 March. But my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister and my noble Friend Baroness Amos discussed the situation in Zimbabwe at length with Southern African Heads of State.
