HC Deb 12 March 2002 vol 381 cc931-2W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what her policy is on the payment of relocation expenses to staff in her Department. [41033]

Dr. Howells

The underlying principle of DCMS's policy on the payment of relocation expenses to staff is that reasonable costs associated with a compulsory permanent transfer to a new workplace will be reimbursed; and anyone joining DCMS from other locations does so on purely voluntary terms. To date there has been no call to use this policy primarily because DCMS is a London based organisation.

In the Royal Parks Agency where Parks Managers are required to relocate to Parks Lodges they receive a relocation package of £2,500 and reimbursement for removal expenses.
