§ Mr. MorleyThe responsibility for monitoring the regulatory situation in member states and for maintaining a level playing field through the proper implementation and enforcement of EU legislation is a matter for the European Commission. In developing its own regulatory 943W reform plan, DEFRA does have regard among other matters, to practice in other member states where appropriate.
