HC Deb 08 March 2002 vol 381 c604W
Mr. Webb

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to his answer of 27 February 2002,Official Report, column 1320W, on child support, what the basis was for the assumption that the introduction of the new child support scheme would result in a rise in the level of compliance. [41695]

Mr. Wicks

The new child support scheme is far less complex than the current scheme and hence the need for recalculation following changes in circumstances will be less. The result will be that more resources are available for the agency to use on tracing non-resident parents, on collection of arrears and on enforcement of unpaid debt.
