HL Deb 07 March 2002 vol 632 cc42-3WA
Lord Palmer

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Scotland Act 1998 provides for the appropriate use of parliamentary time by the Scottish Parliament. [HL2906]

Lord McIntosh of Haringey

Section 22 of the Scotland Act 1998 provides that the proceedings of the Scottish Parliament shall be regulated by standing orders, and Schedule 3 makes provision as to how certain matters are to be dealt with by standing orders. These do not include the use of parliamentary time, which is a matter for the Scottish Parliament itself.
