To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the development of the New Partnership for Africa's Development. [62121]

Mr. MacShane

The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NePAD) is a long term agenda for Africa, designed by African leaders for the attainment of sustainable development. Our work on the G8 Africa Plan shows our strong support for NePAD and we will seek to build stronger partnerships with those countries which put the NePAD principles into practice.
