To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many(a) courses and (b) places are available in the north-east of England providing postgraduate teaching qualifications. [62021]

In 2002–03 there are 1,194 places available on 38 postgraduate courses of initial teacher training in the north-east Government office region.
