§ Norman BakerTo ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if she will place in the Library the minutes relating to the Scientific Working Group on Wild Birds and Nature Conservation. [61164]
§ Mr. Meacher[holding answer 13 June 2002]: I understand this question to relate to the Scientific Working Group which supports the ORNIS Committee which assists the European Commission in an advisory capacity on a range of issues concerning implementation of the EC Wild Birds Directive. This committee is supported by a Scientific Working Group which acts in a consultative capacity on technical matters.
Any requests for documents produced by the European Commission, including requests for the minutes of the Scientific Working Group, should be made directly to the European Commission. As part of a wider process, the Government have encouraged the Commission to produce and maintain an electronic database of every comitology committee, its agendas and recent actions, to be accessible through its website.
