To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what his policy is on the exemption of voluntary organisations from the Financial Services compensation scheme. [61870]

The purpose of the Financial Services compensation scheme is to mitigate the losses of eligible claimants when a firm is unable to meet claims against it. Whether a firm is "voluntary" is not a criterion for scheme participation.
