HC Deb 24 July 2002 vol 389 cc1578-9W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how much was spent on press and advertising campaigns in 2001–02; and what the planned expenditure is for 2002–03. [60915]

Mr Nicholas Brown

The Department for Work and Pensions was formed in June 2001. Since that time and up till the end of 2001–02 financial year a total of 16.96 million was spent on advertising media.

For the financial year 2002–03 campaign activity is being planned in a number of important areas such as Pensions Education and Payment Modernisation. The role of press, radio and TV advertising in these campaigns is still to be decided.
