HC Deb 23 July 2002 vol 389 c969W
Norman Lamb

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much revenue has been lost by train operating companies in each of the past five years as a result of(a) no staff being available to collect fares on services and (b) staff being unable to proceed along trains owing to overcrowding. [71538]

Mr. Jamieson

None. Revenue protection is a matter for the train operating companies. It is in their commercial interest to ensure that passengers travel with valid tickets.
