HC Deb 23 July 2002 vol 389 cc1094-7W
Mr. Burstow

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to his answer of 17 June 2002,Official Report, column 168W, on hospital discharges, for what reason statistics for the Eastern Region on discharges that were delayed for less than eight days are not available. [64852]

Jacqui Smith

[holding answer 27 July 2002]The statistics were not available because of inconsistencies in the data provided by some health authorities in eastern region. By checking with hospitals in the former eastern region, I have been able to estimate the number of discharges delayed for less than eight days in that region. I have placed some corrected figures in the Library.
