To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many letters were received by each Minister in her Department in each month since June 1997. [59309]

The Scotland Office was established in its present form on 1 July 1999. The Cabinet Office publishes an annual report on Parliament on the volume of Members' correspondence received by Departments. The report for 2001 was published on 24 May 2002,Official Report, columns 673–76W. Copies of previous reports are available in the Library of the House.

Records of other correspondence by my Department are not kept centrally and can be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
