To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what use for land disposed of within the Portsmouth naval base would be acceptable to his Department; and if he will make a statement. [70760]

Any alternative use of land within the naval base would be subject to operational and security considerations, and if a change of use was involved, this would be subject to the normal planning process.
