§ Mr. MorleyWhile we strongly support the removal of protectionist barriers to agricultural trade, we have made clear that liberalisation must not compromise EU standards of hygiene and animal welfare. Our concerns are fully reflected in the negotiating proposals that the European Commission has submitted in the Doha Development Agenda.
