§ Ms Blears[holding answer 10 July 2002]: PC SPES has not been licensed as a medicinal product in the United Kingdom. However, I understand that it has been recalled by its American manufacturers as it has been found to contain undeclared prescription drug ingredients. The four research studies into its effectiveness that are being 1047W funded by the national centre for complementary and alternative medicine in the United States have also been put on hold.
